Frank panicked. "That''s not what I meant." He had genuinely meant to do something for Noelle.
Noelle grabbed the microphone and addressed everyone present. "I was once part of the Liddells, but not anymore. My old fans should know I don''t get along with my family.
"Now let me rify-I have no ties to the Liddells!"
Frank felt deeply hurt by Noelle''s words, but there was nothing he could say.
Xenia seized the opportunity to interject, "Frank meant well, Noelle. Why are you putting him in such a difficult ce? You don''t know how much I envy you."
Tianna sneered. "You''re just the daughter of the chauffeur, Xenia. You took someone else''s spot at the business school. Don''t you have any shame?"
"Exactly. The fact that a chauffeur''s daughter gets to attend the business school shows who''s favored in the family."
"Such favoritism. It''s no wonder Nelly cut ties with them. I would''ve done the same if it were me."
The criticisms left Xenia speechless. She looked to Frank for help and exined, "That''s not what I meant, Frank. I was just trying to help you persuade Noelle!"
"I don''t need your persuasion. Shut your meddlesome mouth!" Frank snapped. He no longer fell for Xenia''s tricks. "If Noelle isn''t cooperating, that''s on me. No one else is to me."
Xenia was stunned by her response. Her eyes filled with disbelief.
Strange. Her usual tactics had always worked, but why did Frank not hold any grudge against Noelle even after being so publicly humiliated?
Frank turned to step off the stage, and Xenia panickedly ran after him. Samantha was left standing on the stage alone.
Noelle raised an eyebrow at her, and Samantha fled off as if for fear of being dealt with again.
Tianna stepped up to Noelle''s side and announced, "Well, the voting continues despite the minor conflict."
In the end, Noelle won the vote by andslide and was elected the new captain. She was surrounded by cheers and celebrations, and her poprity soared.
But soon, the Merlocks came knocking on her door.
In the captain''s office, Noelle found herself face-to-face with a bespectacledwyer and Samantha. Thetter smugly sneered. "This is mywyer, Noelle. You''re done for. It''s your turn to go to jail."
Thewyer adjusted his sses and said, "It''s a pleasure to finally meet you, Ms. Liddell. We''ve spoken on the phone."
"Oh, it''s you," Noelle replied as she settled in her chair and pulled out her phone. "Here''s the footage fromst time in the restroom. I assume Samantha hasn''t mentioned this to you, has she?"
Samantha grew instantly nervous. It was true she hadn''t told them for fear of receiving a scolding. Ruth had warned her to keep a low profile and avoid getting leveraged over.
Thewyer''s expression changed after watching the video. He got up and made a phone call to report the situation to Ruth.
Momentster, Samantha received a call from Ruth and received a thorough scolding.
Thewyer turned back to Noelle. "How do you propose to solve this, Ms. Liddell?"
"Simple. Have Samantha apologize to me, and I''ll delete the video."
"Never! I''d rather die than apologize to you!" Samantha shot up from her seat and stormed off.
Noelle smirked at thewyer. "You have only one day to think it over. I''m pretty easy-going, after all."
"I''ll need to report this, Ms. Liddell. But if you insist on going against the Merlocks, we''ll pull our funding from the team. You''d better consider your options carefully," thewyer warned.
After he left, Noelle pondered his words. His words piqued her attention.
As of now, the onlypany she knew of that could sponsor the team was Maple Enterprise. She sent Alfred a text after some thought. "Mr. Parham, would you be free for dinner this evening?"
Alfred was shocked to see the text. He looked up at Cedric and asked, "Have you been in touch with Nelly recently?"
Cedric, who''d been reviewing documents, recalled and replied, "No."
"But she just texted me to ask me out for a meal!"
