    “Well, there’s something else.” Andrew’s eyes softened as he looked at the lively, beautiful Madisyn on the screen, his voice dropping low.


    “While we’re on this call, I can’t help but think about you.”


    Work, dinner, and then thoughts about her. Although Andrew didn’t utter any grand, poetic words, the sentiment still managed to tug at Madisyn’s heart.


    She pressed her hand gently to her chest, her eyes lingering on him in the video as she spoke softly, “I have a few things left to take care of. I’ll be back tomorrow.”


    “Okay, I’ll wait for you.”


    After a few more exchanged words, the call ended. Madisyn stood from the sofa and asked Jared to change her flight to the earliest one the next morning.


    “Didn’t you say you’d finish everything tomorrow? Why are you going now?” Jared, everpliant, quickly rearranged her flight while trailing her out of the hotel.


    “I want to finish things quickly and go back early.”


    Jared, driving, nced over and asked, “Is something going on in Ansport?”


    Madisyn thought for a moment, then replied, “It’s something very important to me.”


    Jared shot a nce at her, sensing something in her tone, and after a brief pause, he suddenly understood.


    “Boss, don’t tell me it’s because of Andrew.”


    “Yes,” Madisyn responded inly.


    “Oh well! Boss, you’re terrible. Even on a business trip, you’re still showing off your love with him.”


    Jared’s lips twitched, but he quickly shifted his focus, rattling off everything that still needed to be done. They wrapped things up efficiently. The next day, afternding, Jared dropped Madisyn at the vi she shared with Andrew, then drove away without a second nce.


    Madisyn watched his car drive off, shaking her head in amusement.


    She approached the vi, scanned her fingerprint, and entered.


    It was a little past five in the morning, the sky just beginning to lighten. Madisyn walked quietly into the bedroom.


    Andrewy asleep in bed. Madisyn’s gaze softened as it rested on his peaceful, angelic face, tracing the lines of his features.


    With his eyes closed, Andrew looked more serene, softer, than when he was awake.


    At that moment, Madisyn couldn’t resist taking her phone out to capture a picture of him.


    But just as she slipped her phone back into her pocket, her eyes met Andrew’s—his dark eyes wide open.


    He was awake?


    Before Madisyn could say anything, he reached for her hand.


    Without thinking, she ced hers in his, and in one fluid motion, he pulled her into his embrace, closing his eyes again.


    Madisyn froze, taken aback by the suddenness of his action. But Andrew simply held her close, content, his heart swelling as he relished the softness of her presence. It felt so real. Slowly, he fluttered his eyshes and opened his eyes once more.
