?Chapter 1386:
Madisyn hadn’t expected that answer. Surprised, she tilted her head and asked, “Is it something important?”
Andrew nced at her, his expression serious, and gave a firm nod. “It’s very important. It concerns you and the baby.”
His words immediately put Madisyn on edge, but when she saw him deep in thought after his brief exnation, she decided not to press further.
Once they arrived home, Andrew barely stayed before heading straight to the office, leaving Madisyn to bask in the joy of the moment with Nana. After ying with her daughter for a while, Madisyn took her to the yroom.
Alone in the living room, Madisyn sat in quiet contemtion for a while before reaching for her phone and dialing Mchi, Andrew’s secretary.
These days, Mchi never took Madisyn’s calls lightly.
The moment he saw her name on the screen, he answered promptly and respectfully. “Ms. Johns, this is Mchi.”
Madisyn got straight to the point. “Mchi, I need to ask you something. Have there been any major projects recently, either for the group or its subsidiaries?”
Mchi didn’t n to hold back. After all, Madisyn held shares in Klein Group—shares that the old Mr. Klein had personally entrusted to her.
However, there were multiple significant projects in progress, and he wasn’t sure which one she was interested in.
After a moment’s thought, he relied on his intuition and decided to share details about thetest initiative Andrew hadunched that very day.
“Ms. Johns, we have several important projects, but the most recent one involves all hospitals under Klein Group integrating thetest foreign advancements in pain management for childbirth. Mr. Klein has already taken steps to secure this technology.”
Even through the phone, Mchi’s professionalism carried a hint of a smile.
“Once implemented, this will not only be a milestone for thepany but also a tremendous benefit for expectant mothers everywhere.”
Madisyn was momentarily stunned. She had not expected the project Andrew was referring to—the one that concerned her and the baby—to be this.
A wave of emotions crashed over her, a mixture of warmth and overwhelming affection.
“Thank you, Mchi. I’ll let you get back to work.”
After ending the call, she curled up on the sofa, hugging a pillow to her chest. Her free hand instinctively rested on her stomach as she thought about everything Andrew had done for her. A soft smile graced her lips, one filled with love and gratitude.
Eight monthster, on that same sofa, Madisyn gently caressed her belly again.
Beside her, Nana sat cross-legged, lost in her own world, sketching in her drawing book.
Nana had already started kindergarten and had earned the role of ss leader with her impressive skills and bright personality. She nced up at her mother from time to time, resting her chin in her palm as she worked on her drawing.
After about half an hour, Nana reached over and patted Madisyn’s hand.
“Mommy, look at my drawing!”
Madisyn took the drawing book from her small hands.
