Chapter 1344

    ?Chapter 1344:

Jenny straightened her shoulders, determination flickering in her eyes.

“Of course! I came all the way here. I’m not letting one bad moment ruin my night.”

They made their way into the square, finding a decent spot to watch the show. But despite their words, neither of them truly shook off their gloom.

    Jenny sighed.

“I was nning to buy some fireworks and set them off myself after this, but… forget it. Waylon, let’s go get a couple of drinks instead.”

At the bar, after downing three sses of wine, Jenny finally pulled out her phone again, her fingers hovering over the screen.

“Come on, Waylon. Look at this guy. If you ever run into someone like him again, you have to introduce us.”

She pushed the phone toward Waylon, her tone insistent. Waylon took the phone from her, ncing at the screen with mild curiosity. But the second he saw the photo—Jenny standing beside Laurin—his expression turned ice-cold.

    “He lied to you.”

If Laurin was telling the truth—that he only liked men—then how had he ended up with Evie?

“Jenny, you’ve been deceived. I know him. He doesn’t like men.”

Jenny set down her ss, confusion flickering across her face.

“Then why would he lie to me?” Her mind raced through her interaction with Laurin, searching for any sign of deceit. But she shook her head.

“Waylon, I don’t think he was lying. And he had no reason to.” If Laurin liked women, wouldn’t it have made more sense for him to let Jenny throw herself at him?

Waylon knew Laurin wasn’t exactly loyal in rtionships. The excuse he had given Jenny didn’t make sense.

There was a missing piece to this puzzle, and Waylon intended to find it. He frowned, deep in thought.

“Before today, I was certain Laurin liked women. But now, I’m not so sure.”

After parting ways with Jenny, Waylon couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.

He stood in the courtyard of his home, a cigarette between his fingers, lost in thought. Dane spotted him and walked over, frowning.

“Did you forget what Mom said? No smoking.”

Waylon sighed and stubbed it out, ncing at his brother.

“Sorry. Dane, can you help me find someone?”

    “Who?” Dane asked.

Without a word, Waylon sent him Laurinda’s photo.

“His name is Laurin Tanico. I need to ask him something.”

Dane studied the image before nodding.

“I’ll track him down as soon as possible.”

    “Thanks, Dane.”

A dayter, Waylon received a reply.

“The Laurin you mentioned doesn’t exist. But there is a Laurinda who looks exactly like this guy…”
